Diamonds in the Dirt

I found my diamonds in the dirt. According to the Diamond Maker, uncovering gems like these takes skill. He offers a training program. It’s called, “Life.”

Life is dirty, messy, and it stinks. Injustice, ruin, and evil abound every day, but within the mess, true “diamonds” are ours for the taking if we would but see them.

Most of my diamonds come in the form of scripture truths.

I love to see them sparkle against the darkness when I expose them to The Light!

This only works IF I am fully trusting The Light.

In regards to the “power” of tyrannical evil men and their purpose versus God’s agenda, the following “precious mineral” is recorded in Acts.

He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist…. Acts 17:26-27

In other words, if I am walking as God’s child, despite the power others threaten to wield over me, God has me covered by His grace and mercy. He has my back, my front, my side, my feet and my head covered! Evil around me is merely evil—a farce force floundering in the shadow of His tremendous power. “In Him, we live and move and exist.” Can you see the “shine” of those words?

There is more about God’s boundary control found in this bejeweled analogy of the sea.

“…Now hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see; who have ears but do not hear. Do you not fear Me?’ declares the LORD. ‘Do you not tremble in My presence? For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, an eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it. Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail; though they roar, yet they cannot cross over it.” Jeremiah 5:21-22

Next, are the unfathomable facets of His Peace. When I am in the midst of trouble, I look for the brilliance of this verse.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

There are so many more Scripture gems, but you will have to find them in your own dirt. God will show you how.

Happy digging!
