Psalm 119: Pedaling Power

Most presidents, like lesser gods, eventually leave us pedaling on our own without relief. When calamities come, their powerful but still human capability for “roadside assistance” is often non-existent or ineffective. However, there is One whose record is known throughout the universe. What He promises, He delivers. His concern for our life course exceeds all other’s concern, and His party members have big benefits. Even if His people endure illness and lose their ability to form words, connect thoughts, or experience feelings, their faith is still covered by Him.

Psalm 119 teaches us about this Leader who initiates and propels a true work of faith in us, and when we can “no longer pedal,” He still carries us. After all, what He started and maintained, He will finish. The Bible is clear about this.

Are you running out of steam? Are the pedals getting harder to push?

Turn to God. His power has no term limit. It is endless.

“…in Your righteousness give me renewed life. Let Your mercy and loving kindness come also to me, O Lord, even Your salvation according to Your promise…..And I will walk at liberty and at ease, for I have sought and inquired for –desperately required Your precepts. (teachings) I will speak of Your testimonies before kings and will not be put to shame….” Psalm 119:40-46

“This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that your word has revived me and given me life.” Psalm 119:50

“Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.” Psalm 119:54

“You have dealt well with your servant, O Lord, according to your promise.” (65)

My Prayer

God, Your “carriage benefits” are beyond belief! Thank you for carrying us when our own strategies fail and our bodies become weak. You ARE the Power that exceeds all else! Your mercy and loving kindness endure forever. Amen

Let me add this tribute to the “10,000 Reasons” to sing Your praise!
