Where do you go when the props of life have been taken from you? Where do you run when expected pillars of strength like marriage, business, health, and loved ones disappear? I’ve found a place and I’m waiting there.
Waiting for the show
When scoffers scoff,
And love betrays,
I’m waiting for the show.
When stealers steal,
What isn’t theirs,
I‘m waiting for the show.
When I am beat,
Out for the count,
I’m waiting for the show.
The first act is the Laws of God,
Then sounds of templates breaking.
The middle is the Son of Man,
New creatures He is making.
And last of all, a trumpet sings.
The curtain falls.
The show begins.
Psalm 123
Unto You do I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in heaven.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
And as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy and loving-kindness for us.
Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on and loving-kindness for us, for we are exceedingly satiated with contempt. Our life is exceedingly filled with the scorning and scoffing of those who are at ease and with the contempt of the proud who disregard God’s law.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.
2 Corinthians. 4:6, 7
For God who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts….But we have this treasure in jars of frail human clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But He said to me, My grace is enough for you, (sufficient against danger and enables you to bear trouble manfully) My strength and power are made in weakness. So I will gladly glory on so that the strength and power of Christ may rest, (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
My Prayer
God, in things beyond public expression, I am cratered. Making light out of darkness is Your specialty. Do it again. I am waiting…. Thank You for the show I will see someday and thank you for sharing the tent space. Amen
